My name is Mckye,

I'm the owner of Mckye Music, a trained musician, certified sound practitioner and meditation teacher.

I bring a unique blend of somatics, spirituality and songweaving to my practice because your human experience is meant to be FELT!

Through my own journey of healing from CPTSD, I've felt the freedom of practicing compassionate awareness and nervous system regulation to widen my capacity for joy. There is a great healing power within you; my goal is to create the container for you to let it transform your life. My mission is to empower my human family to slow down, reconnect and regulate their nervous systems using the universal language of music. As a trauma-informed, queer artist, I live to encourage you to embrace the mystery of this wild life and your loving, whole, true, Self.

When we lack conscious presence in our lives, it’s not a matter of “will” we continue to suffer. It’s a matter of “how long” we’ll suffer.

You don’t have to look far to see that as a society, we undervalue presence. It’s hard to slow down and look inward when you’re told to hustle harder. It’s challenging to set aside time for yourself when we secretly view it as selfish or don’t know how. But how can we respond to a whisper from the heart when the voice in our head is so loud? How do we cultivate an aligned feeling of worth, love, presence and freedom when we’ve NEVER been given the tools to create it? How do we build trust in ourselves when we’ve never been shown how in a society that doesn’t value authenticity and truth?

As a collective, we need a major paradigm shift as far as how we view our worth and connect to our spirituality and our souls (*gasp* I said it). When I started my journey, I had an incredible coach and mentor who helped me remember my worth and encouraged me to fight for myself. I then became a meditation teacher because I felt the massive change that came from following the stillness within… and I experienced what happens when you take time to listen to it. How would our world change if we all embraced this magic of presence? How would we treat each other differently if we were aware of the love that dwells around us and within all of us? The love that IS us? What if we saw through the illusion of separateness?

The reason meditation comes along with music is meditation woke me up. Before it, I felt numb.

That sums up my state of being; chronically people pleasing and self medicating in an attempt to silence the toxic voice in my head. The worst part? This constant thought stream was subconscious… so even though it was running my life and making me sick, I had little awareness that it was taking place. I just knew I felt awful and I wanted to feel better. It was possible I was worthy of feeling better.

Enter meditation.

By starting my meditation practice, my entire perspective of self and the world changed.

It was my red pill moment.

You undoubtedly have the capacity to do the same.

I’m on a mission to find the humans who bought the lie that their authentic self was unloveable.

At the end of the day you deserve to know who you are beyond your habitual thinking mind. You deserve a kind inner narrative because after all, it’s the filter that’s shaping your reality. Believe me when I say that if my anxious ass can do it, so can you. There is nothing but love here for you. If you’d like to learn more about turning fearful thoughts into freedom, we should definitely meet ;)

and now fun stuff…
